All the women (and many men) know about slicing meat. They know many tips and hints on how best to do it, yet often times they get it wrong. There is just something to slicing meat to make it hair or paper thin that not many people know to get it right.

There are a few things one can do to make it 'near perfect', and one of them is putting the meat in the freezer for half an hour, up to an hour. This will make the heat hard enough to cut. Don't leave it for more than an hour though, as it will become too frozen. For example, chicken needs less time in the freezer than, say, beef.

Another trick is to have a seriously sharp knife that seems to just glide through the meat. Better knives cost a bit more money, but they are a good investment. However they need constant sharpening and after a while, even the stronger sharpening action doesn't do them justice anymore: they loose the sharpening edge they once had as new knives.

The best tip I can give to anyone nowadays is to buy a meat slicer, preferably an electric one. Meat slicers are no longer in the realm of bloody butcheries we so commonly attach with these gadgets. They are now used in restaurants, as well as in homes.

Many woman enjoy the benefits these electric meat slicers give them. Imagine buying thin slices of beef from the deli, how expensive those are. Well, now with a good electric meat slicer this is no longer a problem at home. The higher price of the machine will be easily offset by the ease of use of this machine and the speed the meat is cut with it.

There are great electric slicers for less than $100 these days and they have a good quality as well, so nowadays pretty much anyone can afford them. Of course, you can find meat slicers for $500 as well, but it all depends really on what we can afford and what we like most - and what our needs are. A home kitchen needs something less expensive than a restaurant, for example.
