Millions of people currently suffer from acne. Pimples on their faces cause both insecurity and embarrassment. You worry about your skin and what effect it could have on your life if you were to suddenly have a bad breakout. The most important thing you can do is prevent acne from affecting your life by following a good skin cleansing routine.

Your first line of defense should always be to keep your skin clean. During the day, if you become hot and sweaty, your pores open. Dirt and other matter, including bacteria, gets into the pores and becomes trapped inside when the pores close. This bacteria and dirt can wreak havoc on your skin if it is not removed. The best cleansing ritual should include opening the pores to remove the debris and then closing them back up to reduce the chance of more dirt and bacteria getting back in.

When you do find yourself breaking out, stop the pimple from getting worse. Don’t wait, as it will only give the acne time to get worse. You will find some remedies for acne right in your home. Lemon juice and tomato juice are great, as they contain bacteria fighting ingredients. Simply rub the juice onto the acne and let dry. Rinse off and then close your pores again, using cold water.

Skin cleansing routines should be done in the morning and before you go to bed. During the day, if you find yourself hot and there is dirt flying around, don’t hesitate to go rinse your skin off in between cleansings. Just make sure that you use a mild cleanser, as many have ingredients that could actually cause even more damage to your skin.
