The noisy push to redefine marriage has moved to the literary arena, and the latest ally in the gay marriage movement is Merriam-Webster's compendium. As a state mag explained [*CO]'One of the state's most outstanding dictionary firms has resolved the discussion to whether the term 'marriage' should apply to same-sex couples or be reserved for the firm that has held families together for millennia by simply writing a new definition.' The new definition now states that marriage includes'the state of being united to an individual of the same sex in a relationship like that of a typical marriage.'.

In 1945, George Orwell wrote Animal Farm, and one of the characters in the book was the pig, stool pigeon, who at random redefined words in order that they would mean what he wanted. As Orwell explained about stool pigeon,'he could turn black into white' as a factor of his effort to get the other animals to accept his message ; the same technique is reputedly being employed in this modern compendium.

It is unlucky the dictionary still carrying the name of Founding pop Noah Webster is totally unlike his original, which trusted the Bible as the bedrock of his definitions. In fact, the definition for'marriage' in his original dictionary glaringly states:. The act of uniting a woman and man for life ; wedlock ; the legal union of a man and woman for life.
marriage is a contract both civil and non secular, by that the parties engage to live together in mutual love and fidelity until death shall separate them. Webster's original compendium then gave a Biblical example to show the use of the word:. One of the finest systems to cope with the new agenda is to renounce the new definition and continue to use the first. Or, as Proverbs 22:28 smartly teaches [*CO]'Do not move a standard boundary stone set up by your forefathers.' One means to help preserve the conventional'boundary stones' of Biblical meanings is to use Noah Webster's original 1828 compendium rather than the new online compendium that are moving more away from Biblical meanings.

About WallBuilders

WallBuilders is an organization dedicated to presenting America's forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on the moral, non secular, and constitutional foundation on which America was built - a foundation which, lately, has been seriously attacked and undermined. In accord with what was so exactly stated by George Washington, we think that'the propitious [favorable] smiles of heaven can't ever be anticipated on a nation which disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained.'
