We will soon be taking our second visit of the year to Whitby. It also happens that this year our trip falls on the same weekend as the Whitby Goth weekend. This trip has a little extra fun involved as it happends to be a Stag weekend and bike ride rolled into one.

Our plan is simple, travel to Scarborough by train, and then bike noth up the coast to Whitby. We are lucky in that the route from Scarborough to Whitby is a scenic one to say the least. 12 able riders will be making the trip, although some have unfair advantage over the others in terms of fitness and skill. However none of our group have ridden this route before, which should make for an interesting battle. There will certainly be a surprise or two in store for everyone, a trip in to the unknown, an adventure.

The trip starts at Scarborough YHA (Youth Hostel), this is where we will gloat about our chances of making first into Whitby.None of the group have stayed at the Scarborough YHA before, although the Whitby YHA is one of the countries finest youth hostels, it will be interesting to see how the two compare. I used several mountain biking websites to plan our route. There are many websites related to Whitby, but by far the best is http://www.thewhitbyguide.co.uk. I typed "Whitby Stag" into Google and this website came up first. The website has useful information on Whitby accommodation, places to eat and things to do and visit while your in Whitby. I would suggest to anybody that they research this website if they plan to visit Whitby. It was useful to read the reviews that were available on the site; it's always useful to have an independent opinion - telling it how it is.

Having read the reviews and articles about the Goth weekend on the Whitby Guide it was decided that we would arrange our stag around it and base the theme on Goth Fancy Dress Mountain Biking. Hallo'een has an added appeal and should draw an eclectic mix of Goths, Bram Stoker fans and tourists. Our intention for the weekend is to have a high energy, action packed Stag Party. Im sure a few of the lads will be cursing digital cameras and facebook by the time this trip is over.I cannot wait to get these pictures online for the world to see. If you have been inspired by our trip and fancy your own Stag weekend in Whitby, then the following link for accommodation is very useful Whitby Accommodation
