If you are an addicted gambler and have been unsuccessful in your attempts to stop gambling, you are not alone. Thousands to millions across the globe have tried to stop gambling, whether it is sports gambling addiction, slots or pokies addiction, or horse-racing addiction only to return to gambling.

When understanding a gambling addiction, it is important to understand that gambling addiction is one of the hardest addictions to overcome. Because it is a behavioral addiction and fills many needs, including a need for belongingness, addictive gambling is not easy to stop.

Although there are many gambling addiction treatments available, many problem gamblers do not seek help due to shame, lack of funds, and an inability to stay away from gambling long enough to see things clearly.

For the gambling addicted, trying to find a way to stop gambling that truly works can be quite a challenge indeed. The truth is, however, there is no one magical solution to stop gambling addiction in it’s’ tracks. It also may take several attempts to stop gambling before you are actually successful.

Compulsive gamblers and problem gamblers can take 2, 3, 10, 15, or 100 times before they actually quit gambling for good. If you are a compulsive gambler, it is important to remember that your gambling addiction filled many of your needs, even though you filled these needs with a destructive gambling habit.

If you just cannot quit gambling addiction but really want to stop gambling in your heart of hearts ,I would like to say two things to you.

1. There are many types of help for a gambling addiction available. If one way does not work, find another way. If you do not like Gamblers Anonymous, find another self-help group for gambling addiction. You can also see a private counselor that may even be funded by the state you live in.

2. Never, ever, ever, give up trying to stop gambling. Keep trying to quit your gambling addiction because eventually you will succeed. Never give up on yourself and your ability to live a life that is free from gambling addiction.

If you are looking for a self-help course that is highly intensive with a high success rate, Life Beyond Gambling is a course looking into.

I have reviewed the program thoroughly, and it is truly something that can work for you when all else has failed.

Best of luck for you in your quest in how to stop gambling, and quitting gambling for good.

Life is truly better when it is free of addictive gambling.
