· Explore Sydney. Sydney is known as the "Harbour City" and has plenty of wonderful tourist attractions for you to enjoy. · Tour the Wagga Wagga region. The Wagga Wagga area is located nearly 500km from Sydney but it is worth the near 6 hour drive to get there! Attractions include the Wagga Wagga Botanical Gardens and if you are into watersports such as canoeing and fishing check out the Murrumbidgee River. There is plenty to see and do in the Wagga Wagga region. The city itself is vibrant with many historic buildings to savour. If you fancy a walk check out the Wiradjuri Walking Track, which is a 30km pathway which brings you around the city and give you outstanding views of the Botanic Gardens, the Australian Alps and the city skyline. Try and fit in a trip to Lake Albert also, as this is place that is ideal for sailing and other watersports such as water skiing.
· Take a trip to Lord Howe Island which is an island getaway off the coast of Sydney, and is less than a two hour flight away. This is a hugely popular holiday destination, with plenty of attractions and is a great place if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney! The beaches have wonderful golden sands, and relatively uncrowded.

· Visit the Southern Highlands and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The region lies to the south west of Sydney and is around a two hour drive away. Renowned for its charming towns and quiet pace of life, the most delightful places to visit are the main towns of MossVale, Mittagong, Bowral, Berrima, Bundanoon and Robertson. Some of the most fantastic attractions in the area include the Wombeyan Caves, Mount Gibraltar, Morton National Park and the Fitzroy Falls National Park, which is home to some wonderful flora and fauna.
The landscape in the region varies from pastureland to mountains dotted with forests. The Southern Highlands is also home to Kangaroo Valley an area of unspoilt beauty with cliffs, waterfalls and fantastic wildlife.
· Visit the Snowy Mountains area and you will be astounded by the natural beauty of the towns and villages in the region. The Snowy Mountains are the highest mountain range in Australia, and are part of the Great Dividing Range. It is a perfect holiday destination all year round, with snow capped mountains and mountain streams to the fore. Why not take a trip underground, or a relaxing dip in a thermal pool at the Yarrangobilly Caves. Take a relaxing drive along the winding Snowy Valleys Way and visit charming historic towns like Adelong and Batlow.
The natural resources of the Snowy Mountains have been harnessed to produce electricity, and the headquarters of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority is at Cooma. Cooma is the biggest town in the Snowy Mountains Region. Jindabyne and Perisher are great locations for skiing.
· Take a trip to the wine-producing region of the Hunter Valley. It is one of the oldest wine producing areas of Australia. It is located just two hours to the north of Sydney and the attractions in the region are several. The Hunter Valley is an area of natural scenic beauty, with lush green rolling hills and breathtaking countryside. Take the time to explore the area, and activities such as golf are to be enjoyed here. One marvellous way to explore the region is to take a hot air balloon tour of the Hunter Valley. You will get a birds eye view of the area. If wine tasting is what has attracted you to the Hunter Valley, there are over 80 wineries in the region, from famous labels such as Wyndham Estate to boutique wineries. This area is renowned for its white and red wines and some fine port.
· Visit the Blue Mountains Region and be enthralled by its wonderful beauty, and is located just 120km to the south west of Sydney. The Blue Mountains area starts on the Nepean River and travels to the west to the Cox River. The mountain range is a plateau of sandstone with plenty of river gorges. There is much to see and do here, and you can enjoy watersports on the rivers and lakes, and marvel at the natural beauty of the area including sandstone formations, marvellous wildlife and ever changing landscape views.
The area derived its name from the multitude of eucalyptus trees that grow in the area of the Blue Mountains. As you look at the mountains from a distance they seem to be blue in colour and this is caused by the hazy nature resulting from the tree oil. The Blue Mountains National Park is well worth checking out.
