Christmas is a wonderful time of year, good food, lots of presents, good will to all men and all that. It’s an opportunity to put our feet up and chill out for a few days after the long hard slog of work through the autumn and winter months.

Of course, one of the downsides of Christmas is all the preparation in the run up to the great day, in particular making sure we have bought all our gifts for friends, family and loved ones. If you work full time, then this is especially difficult as generally the only time you can get to the shops is when everyone else is shopping too. Long queues, crowded shops and piped-music carols are not conducive to creating a feeling of festive cheer.

For this reason, many people are turning to the internet more and more for their Christmas gift buying; a virtual queue is so much more tolerable than a 15 minute wait in your local department store. Just select your products, click on the cart, fill in your details and job done. However, internet shopping has its pitfalls to for the busy full time worker, what to do about the delivery.

Most sites tend to use couriers, who generally only deliver between Monday and Friday. Whilst Saturday may be an option, you normally have to pay a premium for this service. Even if you decide to go for a week day, rarely are you given a timeslot, which potentially means waiting in all day for your much anticipated goods to arrive. Typically, they decide to turn up in the 10 minutes you’ve popped out to buy a pint of milk, thus potentially meaning another day waiting in the following day. So much for the convenience of internet shopping!

Obviously with most sites, you have the option to send gifts direct to the recipients address, but how can you guarantee that they will be in to receive their goods? Are you supposed to tell friends and family to take the day off work just to receive your gift?

So what are the alternatives? Have the package delivered to your work address? This is not always practical or even allowed by some employers so this isn’t going to work for everyone. You could always pick the package up from the Sorting Office or courier depot on Saturday, thus joining the queue with everyone else with the same problem. Spending an hour in the queue is less fun than going shopping so you may as well brave the town centre! Of course, there is the possibility that the Courier or Postman will leave the package with the neighbour. Here’s hoping you don’t have the neighbour from hell.

So what’s the solution to this problem? Why, letterbox friendly gift boxes of course. These can be delivered by your postman, with the normal mail. They fit through your letterbox along with your Christmas cards, bank statements and bills. No waiting in all day, no trudging round the sorting office, just get home from work, open the front door and find your package waiting for you. www.letterboxfriendly.co.ukl is a gift company set up with the sole strategy of selling gifts which fit through the letterbox.

Letterbox Friendly specialise in sweets and candy, with their gift boxes bursting with loads of different selection packs. The Mini Gift Boxes are small enough to meet Royal Mails large letter pricing tariff rather than packet prices, meaning that postal costs are kept to a minimum. However, they are big enough to bring a smile to the face of anyone receiving one. They make a great alternative to sending a traditional birthday or Christmas card as they can be sent straight to the recipient, with a personalised message included inside too. The large gift boxes on the other hand make a fantastic gift for anyone, absolutely bursting with all types of sweets.

All boxes are themed by way of an internal label design on the inside. These bright vibrant designs cover all sorts of celebrations and occasions, not just Christmas. For example, the popular “Born in the” range focus on particular decades such as Born in the 70s or Born in the 80s. The design label and the sweets contained are sympathetic to the era and therefore are great as a nostalgic gift. Other gift boxes within letterboxfriendly’s range include the Cheer Up Mini Gift Box, perfect for sending to someone who is down in the dumps. Alternatively, there are gift boxes for among other things, passing your driving test, father’s day and for vegetarians. There are also lots of non occasion specific selection boxes should you wish to have more choice. The Christmas range of boxes will be launched very soon, so be sure to keep www.letterboxfriendly.co.uk as one of your favourites.

Letterbox friendly do not just sell sweets though, oh no. As the name suggests, if it fits through a letterbox then its fair game for letterboxfriendly. Coming this autumn, ties, hats and scarves. Again, they will fit in a box which fits through the letterbox, the box will be customised internally, the box can be sent direct to the recipient and a personalised note can be included inside.

So, to avoid the Christmas crowds and the Christmas postal queues this year, shop at www.letterboxfriendly.co.uk, where all the gifts sold are designed to fit through a letterbox.
