Marketing Consistently or Just Acting Like It?

Are you saving face to your business partners by telling little fibs about the quantity of marketing youre doing? Little white lies to make ourselves look better to others is a trap we all fall into at one time or another, but this trap could be seriously hurting your business.

I recently had a conversation with a successful internet marketer and she said she hears from lots of people who tell her they are using free methods of advertising their business, but they arent really putting in the time necessary to do the work. When she put me on the spot and asked me how many articles, videos, press releases, etc. I was releasing every week; I knew I needed to step up my game.

Marketing your business, especially on a small budget is not something you can do whenever you feel like it. It can not be sporadic or your business bottom-line will suffer. You have to do it every single day. If you are targeting free or low-cost methods of advertising you will have to spend more time creating content and sending it out. This could take several hours per day. If you do have more money to market initially, you still have to consistently place ads and monitor your advertising campaigns and change them as necessary.

In addition to recognizing what success will require of us, we can also pass this along to new business builders who expect to begin making money with very little effort. We can quickly weed out those people who are not serious about building a business by the amount of effort they put in. We should see tangible results in the form of websites and content being distributed.

If you want to see results in your business, commit to a goal to create x number of articles and videos per week and send those out consistently and see how your business changes over the next 90 days. I would love to hear from you to see how this strategy changed your business.
