This newly announced program of President Obama will include lowering the mortgage payments to less than 38% of the family's monthly gross income, and decreasing the interest rate by 2%. All of the financial institutions involved in this program have already agreed to these conditions and will be rewarded by receiving $1000 from the government each year for all of the homeowners on this program. This is to ensure that the institutes get this money, while the same amount is taken off of the family's loan principle each year. These incentives will start three months after the homeowners make the modified loan payment.
To be eligible for this program your loan must have been taken out before January 2009. You also have to prove that you are struggling financially or will be in the future. Now that doesn't sound too difficult in today's times, isn't it? This includes situations such as low income or expecting a lost income for any particular reason. You will need documents to prove all of these items and any other relevant documents.
If you are approved for this program, the financial institution will use a formula to calculate your monthly payments.
