Ovarian cancer occurs in women only when both or one of the ovaries have tumor. Ovaries refer to the tiny twin organs that help a woman in reproduction and in the releasing of the human egg. They also help in producing hormones which are important and are located just above ones pelvis that which refers to the lower abdomen. Tumor can be malignant that means it can spread from one organ to another or can even spread in the tissue. However it is not really necessary that all the tumors are malignant as some do spread and there are some which don’t.

Cancer is simple terms is a condition where the cells start multiplying or growing abnormally without ones control. As these cell start multiplying and growing, masses start to grow and these are called tumor. Ovarian cancer is hence a dangerous disease as it converts the healthy cell into bad cell, by taking their place. Also it takes over nutrients and oxygen one needs to function and survive.

This ovarian cancer is usually found in women who are above 40 but it is not necessary that only women that age are targeted. Ovarian cancer could be diagnosed by identifying the following symptoms

1. When one has very irregular period.

2.Suffering from extreme abdominal pain and results in bloating of one’s body

3.When these abdominal pains are accompanied by fever.

4.Suffering from pain during intercourse.

If one is suffering from any of these symptoms, it should be taken lightly. It’s important to immediately meet your gynecologist. This is not just a normal disease that goes off by itself. It’s important to take the required treatment and the medication so it does not harm you further or spread otherwise. Ovarian Cancer is a critical condition that affects a woman, which needs immediate and speedy treatment.
