With the interconnectivity that technology has brought us today as well as the rapid globalization taking place, the world has seem to be gotten smaller. It is not unusual to hear of people moving from one country to another in a short span of time, taking with them all their belongings. Because of this, the need for someone to move appliances, furniture and even cars to great distances has become even more urgent.
Nowadays, the concept of hiring an auto shipper is something that is not new. People usually hire them when moving cars over long distances to another state. International car movers operate the same way. However, the two have some slight variations on how they do things.
With international car movers, you might have to spend more than you would normally do. This is because moving vehicles across bodies of water can be much more complex and requires a higher level of responsibility on the side of the movers. The estimation that you would get is based on the dimensions that you would submit to your transporter. Before your vehicle will be shipped, your transporter will measure it to check if it matches the dimensions that you gave. Any discrepancy could mean additional fees.
With international car transporters, you do not have the usual option of booking when your car would be moved. The schedule would be up to the transporter. Because of the bulk of vehicles that they get to move, they usually follow the first-come, first-serve policy. Aside from that, international transporters usually do not accept vehicles that are not in good working condition as well as vehicles that would need to stay in their holding facilities for extended period of time. There is a possibility that you would incur additional charges for the latter.
Since most your
auto transporters follow the FIFO (First In, First Out) policy, you would need to make an extra effort to ensure that your car is ready for pick up during the assigned schedule. Otherwise, you would need to wait for the next available schedule that they have. You would also be asked for your vehicle’s papers so much sure that you have a copy ready for the transporters.
The upside to all of this, however, is the assurance that your
auto transporter would take good care of your car during the entire move.
