You're a hard worker and you believe in putting in the work. You often go above and beyond the call of duty, working long hours, helping others to make sure the job gets done and stepping up to the plate to make sure your team excels. There's no question that you've earned the right to advance on your job, yet you haven't been tapped for a promotion or advance from your current position. Before you start thinking about changing companies or become discouraged because someone with less amount of experience has been promoted before you, you need to think about the status of your education and how you can make yourself more valuable to the company. Although tough economic times often suggest that companies buckle down and limit the number of promotions they make, it is still possible to advance your career by bolstering your education. Did you know that over the course of your lifetime, with a college degree you can make almost five times as much as someone who only has a high school diploma. This should be a great incentive to take advantage of one or more of the current scholarships that President Obama's administration have made available to women who want to go back to school. Whether you are a young woman who has been on the job for a few years and wants to move into management, or you are a little older and want your career to advance to the next level, you owe it to yourself to see about qualifying for at least one scholarship to go back to school.
