We’ve all been there. Getting to the airport in plenty of time for your flight – whether it is for business or pleasure – can be a stressful event. An early flight means an even earlier start, and driving when you feel tired is never a good idea.
Add to that the possibility of traffic jams and it’s no wonder we don’t look forward to this part of the journey. And supposing you break down and you missed the flight altogether?
This is why more and more people are deciding to leave home the night before and stay in an airport hotel instead of at home. This puts you very close to the airport you are travelling from, which in itself offers several important benefits.
Firstly, you can enjoy a much longer lie in on the day of your flight than you would if you had to travel all the way from home. This should put you in a refreshed state of mind for the journey ahead of you. You’ll have a much shorter journey to complete to reach the airport terminal as well.
In addition to this many airport hotels also offer a shuttle service which takes you that last leg of the journey. When you arrive at the hotel the night before, make sure you find out when you will need to catch this service to arrive in plenty of time for booking in.
By default this also means you don’t have to worry about parking your car at one of the airport car parks. This takes time and even if you pre-book you will have to build in enough time to find the car park and then locate a space. If you have ever tried this before you will know that it is no fun dragging your luggage all the way from the car park, onto the shuttle bus and then over to the main terminal. Shuttle buses from the airport hotels often take you directly to the terminal itself.
There is also the advantage of knowing you have extra time to spare the day before. If you are delayed in reaching the hotel, you simply have to call and let them know. You don’t have any worries about missing your flight, as that is not until the next day. That gives you plenty of time to resolve any travel problems you might have.
Finally of course you can enjoy a leisurely meal the night before and perhaps some of the hotel’s facilities too. For example
Gatwick hotels have plenty to offer in this sense, making it possible to relax and look forward to your forthcoming trip.
Why get stressed when there is a way to ensure everything goes smoothly?
