Serious lottery players use a variety of lottery software tools when getting ready for the next drawing. Lottery software routines that examine the history of winning numbers make up most of the tools in a lottery toolbox. These tools or analysis techniques run the gamut from simple and straight forward to the puzzling and senselessly complex. There is always one lottery tool that can be found in any players lottery toolbox. It is the most basic and fundamental tool of them all. It is simply the chronological listing of the past winning numbers.
Most players accept this as the classical way of representing a lotterys history. Usually, the winning numbers from one drawing are shown on each line preceeded by the drawing number or drawing date.
It looks like this:
1 3 6 17 24 33 46
2 11 12 27 29 41 42
3 5 16 26 31 35 44
...
When a player is creating his play list for the next drawing, this tool allows him to peruse the past winning numbers looking for lottery number patterns. Frankly, I'm not very good at doing this but, I know of many people who are quite adept at it. They have a remarkable ability to uncover patterns where the rest of us just see a list of numbers.
The Eyes Have It
I know, I know, some of you are saying, 'You've got to be kidding. You call this a lottery tool. This is a joke.' Hold your horses there Senior Cynic, there is much more. Much more!
When looking at such a listing, one thing becomes obvious. It looks like an excel spreadsheet. Therefore, we can manipulate it using typical database tools to simplify our search for lottery number patterns and trends. Here are some examples.
One of the comments I've heard from many lottery players is that as their eyes go back and forth over a drawing, they lose track of their position and have to start over. There is also that headache that ensues about five minutes later. For example, a player wants to compare the first column of numbers with the sixth. Why? He's looking for any pattern or trend that could give him an advantage.
One thing that would reduce eye strain and fatigue is simply rearrange the columns. With the two columns of interest now adjacent to one another, the player would no longer be distracted by the numbers in between. He could further minimize distractions by simply blanking the columns that remain. This affords the player the ability to focus all of his attention on the columns of interest. Players love this feature.
Let's Have Order
Another problem with this database is that it is chronological. The first drawing is followed by the second drawing, etc. Why should we look at the winning numbers in order? Is there some law that says we have to look at the past winning numbers in that way? Let's think outside the box.
By treating the table as a database, we could sort it on any column. If we sort column 1 then all of the drawings that contain the number 1 will be displayed together in a group. Wow! Now, that's an advantage. Looking for lottery number patterns relating to the number 1 just got a lot easier. But, wait; there's more. You could also sort column 1 in descending order, placing the largest numbers first.
Remember, we started out with a simple listing of the winning lottery numbers. Now, we can turn the lottery history inside out with some simple database manipulation techniques. This gives the player an entirely new perspective. The player now has a wide variety of new vantage points.
Every Lottery Players Toolbox
Every serious lottery player must have these tools in their lottery toolbox.
1. Rearrange the columns to suit.
2. Blank columns that are not of interest.
3. Sort the database in ascending order.
4. Sort the database in descending order.
Your vantage point can make all the difference when you are looking for an advantage. So how many vantage points are there using these lottery tools? This may be hard for some of you to grasp but, by mixing and matching these four techniques, there are a phenominal 21,528 possible vantage points for a 6 number lottery! This should open a few eyes. What's in your lottery toolbox?
