What countless people fail to grasp, and increasingly so in MLM business due to the shortage of business savvy individuals, is that people buy people, not the business opportunity or commission plan or products. Throughout my fifteen year stint as a 'big ticket' software salesperson, I was all too aware of this, as were the company I worked for and my boss. This was why we were provided with generous expense accounts to wine and dine our potential customers. This wasn't about bribing the client with a free lunch; lunch is the perfect situation to become acquainted with your prospective business partner and the winners in that game were always the ones the built the best relationship with the buyer. I didn't have to sell our solution, because I knew that if the basic necessities were all met, I could win the deal by selling myself.
Guys, this isn't revolutionary news! Just because our social interactions have now moved online, for millenia people have done business in this way, and it isn't about to change anytime soon. The problem is that too many people involved in the MLM network marketing , and think that just posting a few adverts here and there will be sufficient! That's the kind of 'lottery' mentality that gets you nowhere.
What I see, is people failing to using the social networking sites in a way that would benefit them most. Of course, if all you're concerned with is selling a few bottles of the latest slimming pills or fruit juice, then blast your adverts out to one and all and you might make a few sales. But if you're trying to build an MLM downline with social networking, consider whether you would jump into a business venture off the back of some unsolicited outburst? There is a golden opportunity to create your own brand on the social networks. Consider them as the equivalent of your dinner party or business lunch, where you have the opportunity to build a relationship with the best prospects rather than just saying 'hi' with a business card. Imagine if the first thing you said to someone at a party was a verbal 'elevator pitch' on your company and what you do? I know I'm just repeating myself again, but repetition for emphasis is needed, the MLM business is a people business, and that's what you should focus on.. If you want success, and you want to attract other like-minded successful people then you should brand yourself accordingly, and rather than using facebook or any other social network to spam your contacts, let your prospective downline come to you.
