Nothing is as comforting as stepping out of the bath and into a comfortable, soft, plush towel. If it’s time for you to replace your worn-out towels, you may want to follow these guidelines when shopping for them:

- Look at the stitching. Quality towels have strong double stitching.
- Look for double-turned edges. This means the fabric is folded not once, but twice, ensuring a nice looking finished edge, and preventing fraying.
- Weigh the towel. No, you don’t have to put it on a scale, but pick it up and see how heavy it is. Cheaply made towels are light. A good towel has a lot of tightly packed fibers, making it weigh more.
- Look at the label. What we are looking for is 100% cotton. Egyptian and Turkish cotton makes for great towels.

Once you’ve chosen your towels, you want them to last a good long time. Here are some tips on caring for them:

- Wash light and dark colors separately. Colors transfer easily, especially the first time you wash the towel.
