The Sony Ericsson W595 is a 3.5G slider phone in the Walkman series and was released last year in the month of September. Weighing at 104 grams the phone is available in exotic looking colours of Jungle Grey, Lava Black, Ruby Black, Cosmopolitan White, Active Blue, Peachy Pink and Sandy Gold.

The Sony Ericsson W595 is a good addition to Sony Ericsson's Walkman series and turns out to be a decent phone with music playing capability. This phone is aimed at the mid-range market and it has been around in the market for almost a year now. The media player has been enhanced with a few interesting features and it supports shake control and TrackID music recognition applications. Sony Ericsson has also added it's 'SenseMe' feature which automatically creates mood and tempo based playlists for you. Stereo speakers are provided in the phone which lets you listen to the music without wearing the headset. In addition to this the headset cable comes with dual 3.5 mm stereo share jack that allows two people to listen to music at the same time.


The W595 is a Quad-based phone and comes with a 2.2 inches TFT display screen. It also has a built-in accelerometer sensor that facilitates UI auto-rotate. The slide opens in a smooth operation to reveal the rows of alpha-numeric keys. The phone comes with an internal memory of 40 MB which can store up to 20 different fields for 1000 contacts. However the memory can be extended up to 8GB by using Memory Stick Micro cards. It is equipped with a Class10 GPRS as well as a Class10 EDGE that allow instant internet access through the built-in WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML (NetFront ) web browser. The phone camera is a decent 3.15 mega pixel camera with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution. This camera also allows video-calling and also records videos in QVGA mode @15fps. Also included is a stereo FM radio with RDS which is also a very entertaining addition. This device also supports MMS and Email and allows convenient data sharing via the Bluetooth. A USB port is also provided that allows users to connect the device to a PC or laptop. Being a 3G device the W595 allows high-speed HSDPA at a speed of 3.6 Mbps.


All the applications and features are powered by a standard Li-Ion battery that gives a talk time of over 4 hours and a standby time of more than 15 days. Being a music player the battery of the Sony Ericsson W595 also supports music play time of more than 25 hours. Presently the phone is available in 7 exotic and interesting colours of Jungle Grey, Lava Black, Ruby Black, Cosmopolitan White, Active Blue, Peachy Pink and Sandy Gold.
