Deciding childrens golf clubs is a great deal the same as choosing golf clubs for adults.

Years ago children had to make do with cut down golf clubs, but those days are long gone.

You must keep in mind the size and age of your child before considering buying golf clubs. Childrens golf clubs are generally shorter and lighter than a standard set of clubs as they are more applicable to height, size and their strength.

If a child's golf club is too hefty this could change the way they swing and they could lose confidence in their game.

We all know that children lose interest easily, so to keep them positive during practice sessions, they need clubs that have a suitable weight and size to ensure comfort during use.

As a child get's taller with age they will then need a set of clubs that allow for this.

The Length is usually the first thing to look at. Bear in mind that it is acceptable for your child to grip down on the club about an inch, any more than an inch can manipulate their swing to get the club around their body. A set of clubs whose length means your child only needs to grip down one inch allows them to make a normal swing at the ball, but will probably have enough length to get a second year out of the clubs.

Secondly we'll look at the Shaft Flex. Childrens clubs shafts can be bent easily with your bare hands. When your buying your child their clubs make sure the set has a nice, flexible shaft. Proper equipment is extremely important for distance development. Look for lightweight components for their clubs such as graphite shafts that are flexible.

Grip size is the next thing to consider. The size of the grips cause the same problems for a child as it does for an adult. The swing will be altered if the grip doesn't suit hand size. So when purchasing childrens golf clubs, make sure they are fitted with child grips with a core size of .50. These will make a huge difference in your child's game.

On the days when golf doesn't quite go as planned great benefit can be had from the correct gear. This is why we must treat buying childrens golf clubs as if we were buying adult golf clubs, to make sure they get as much enjoyment as possible when out on the course.

You will find that many companies are now producing clubs designed for kids of all ages as they are the up and coming future champions.
