If you are like me, cooking food is not something that I know much about and as such writing an article on good food cooking would not be considered as being a wise choice. However, as no doubt there are many of us who at least know how to switch on the oven and the gas hob, but would then pause to decide on what to do next, an article of this nature should prove very popular.
The first food that comes into mind is beans and toast, yet although beans are rich in iron this recipe would do us no good in the long run. Mash potato, vegetables and a meat would then come into mind and as such an attempt of providing some cooked food would be made, although whether it could be described as food when assessing the end product would be debateable. Where or how then does the extreme beginner begin to find out how best to cook hot decent food for him or herself if faced with the task of self preservation? After all food apart the need for water is the most essential need of any human being.

All is not lost. In this age of the computer, for most of us at least, access to information regarding cooking is in abundance. A search on Google provides us with tens of thousands if not millions of links that give us as many different variations on how to cook. In the UK we also need not worry as we have the BBC or the British Broadcasting Corporation. Television, the Internet, newspapers and magazines all provide us with the abundance of knowledge we need to cook that meal fit for a King; if only we had the time!
One of the most trusted sources of information which provide regular recipes and ideas for home cooking are found in magazines. The BBC, provide a regular monthly production called ‘Good Food Magazine’. Other productions include for the more adventurous ‘Taste Italia’ or for the vegetarian a magazine called ‘Cook Vegetarian’. These productions are an invaluable source of regular information full of step by step instructions on how to provide good meals. Subscription to one or more of these would be a good start for the extreme beginner and if faced with the task of going to the news agent to subscribe, fear not because good shopping internet portals linking directly into the internet subscription page provide a quick and easy solution for those extreme beginners struggling even to think of a recipe beyond beans on toast.
