The South Beach Diet plan, a three-phase structure, limits the consumption of high carbohydrate foods in the initial phase and gradually allows them in the diet in the concluding phases.

You can experiment and make you lunch or dinner with fresh vegetables, lettuce, avocados, asparagus, and other foods that the South beach diet allows on your menu. You can include cheese and cook your meals in olive oil. As in any of the diets, you should increase the amount of water you drink. The more water you drink, the cleaner your system gets. You dispose toxins and waste from food out of your system, which strengthens your immune system and improves your overall health.The first phase of the South beach diet lasts for about two weeks.. In this period, you control your food intake and therefore the amount of carbohydrates.

The normal-sized serving of meals in the first phase helps you to lose as much as 8-14 pounds before your move on to the next phase.

In the second, third and the fourth phases, the restricted foods are gradually included in your diet and you are able to maintain your weight by controlling your food intake.
