Obama's scholarships for mothers program has lit the fire under moms, as well as, dads everywhere to rethink the idea of getting a college education in the hopes of improving their career options. Jobs are everywhere, but a career requires substantial thought and preparation. If the goal is to become employee of the month at a local department store or restaurant than getting a college degree is probably not a high priority, however, if the goal is to improve your financial status then a college degree should be priority. In order to provide a family with the comfortable necessities in our society we need well paying employment. The only problem is not anyone can walk in off the street with intentions of getting that high powered VIP position. More likely than not a high status position comes with a price. First and foremost an education that will train you in most aspects involved in the position. A position of stature requires extensive knowledge in a particular market, dedication to the company, willingness to continue learning and changing with the company. But before you can get a foot in the door, regardless of how good your dedication track record is, you will probably need a college degree to even land an interview. If you have no desire to be the VIP of a high status firm, you do however; have the desire to find a career that you can retire comfortably from there are countless options to choose from. The dedication begins the day you decide your ready to have a career and not "just a job."
