Travel, as they say is enlightening. It is, in fact, becoming a striking and clear trend, with more and more dirt cheap airlines cropping up every which way and with people becoming increasingly enthralled with the idea of being global citizens. People are traveling. They are taking to the road and trying to become all that they can be, making and having self revelatory moments in some forlorn desert in Bolivia or amidst the cobble stone streets of southern Sweden. Of course, for many people the traveling life is nothing but a dream they once had when they were a kid. After that reality sets in, and they end up getting a desk job in some large anonymous corporation. And yet, realities are changing.

The work force is becoming endlessly more flexible and dreams are actually coming true. There’s a whole new breed of so called flash packers, a fleet of roving travelers who go no where without their gadgets—their laptops, netbooks, iPhones, iPods, PDAs and the like. Flashpackers, unlike their backpacker brethren, have more fluid cash flows at their disposal, and most of them actually travel and work at the same time. They are just one example of this new crop of cosmopolitan roving workers. While not everyone can become an intrepid traveler for a living, it is now becoming a more of a possibility due to wireless internet.

Wireless internet services like WiMax are ushering a new brand of workforce. Freelancers of every craft, from designers, to programmers, to writers, journalists, bloggers, photographers, and even remote personal assistants, can now do their thing on the road, in Russia, in Timbuktu or in the outskirts of Detroit. It really doesn’t matter.

Unlike wifi, where you’re limited to a certain fenced in hotspot, which may or may not be effective, with WiMax you’ve got coverage all over. You take your connection with you. This is due to technical advances in the field of wireless technology. As technology forges ahead, wireless internet is becoming increasingly widespread. Travel anywhere in the US and you will most likely be covered. You can get a high quality, speedy connection that won’t let you down. This isn’t satellite technology. WiMax is actually a brand new way to get a wireless connection and it doesn’t require any bulky equipment to get it to work. It uses different transmission modes allowing for broadband internet speeds without the cables. As the emphasis here is on portability and mobility, WiMax offers small peripheral devices to get you connected. Some later model cellular phones, laptops and other portable gadgets already have WiMax capability embedded within them.

WiMax is still very fresh out of the box, so it isn’t available in all areas yet. But, it is on its way and soon it will be available all over the world. In fact, in some parts of the globe, whole cell phone towers will be replaced and newer technologies like this are going to be installed, allowing mobile workers to travel with ease.

Clear internet is coming your way soon. With 4G Wireless and fast wireless internet, you’ll be set for all your travels.
