I hadn't had a date with her or been anywhere with her at all, but as I went in the taxi to Istanbul airport I felt that I knew all about her. I waited for her in arrivals and I saw her as soon as as she came through the doors and into the arrivals lounge. She smiled when she saw me standing there. She was just as good looking as I knew she had to be. We kissed and made our way to the taxi waiting outside. We made ourselves comfortable in the car and held hands all the way back to the hotel. It was a fantastic hotel over looking the Blue Mosque and the usual nice Turkish hospitality. We had three weeks to holiday and travel the land and I knew it was going to be good. I booked a room with what they called a French bed. It was simple enough to arrange it all on the Web. We had a fantastic first night with a visit to a local restaurant and then we were all warm in our room for the remainder of the night.

I was really looking forward to the next day with a visit to the Blue Mosque and various other areas of Istanbul. When we went to the Blue Mosque she was wearing shorts and this was a problem as women are supposed to cover up in these places. They gave her a cloth to cover her legs up. She draped the cloth half round her legs and hitched it up the side with a knot. The guide was amuzed and said that it wasn't any good as she now seemed even sexier! I had to agree. Eventually we did get to visit the place and later we walked around the port district holding hands.

The next day we travelled by sea bus across the Sea of Marmara to the port town of Mudanya. I have an aquaintance who lives there and we wanted to visit him and his family. It took a while to find him so we went to a hotel and stayed for one night. later we moved to my friend's house. He helped us book a hire car which we were going to use for the remainder of the time.

The following day we set off down the coast. There was no real plan, just go until we found somewhere nice. The first town had a good beach and we asked at the various sites for a place to stay. In the end we got a place that was actually constructed out of an old container. The sides and roof were metal. It got quite hot during the day. Still it was cheap and we were down the beach swimming most of the time. The site had its own restaurant and we had an amazing lobster meal and wine on the evening.

This was building up to be a super holiday with a fantastic person to share it with. I recall how different it was to the ocasions I had been in Turkey holidaying with my friend. Don't get me wrong, we always had a great time. However this was different and inspiring. We spent the remainder of the 3 weeks driving down the Aegean coast as far as the Mediterranean stopping at places we liked the look of. It was fantastic and I didn't want it to end. No more single holidays for me. I had a plan. A plan that works every time! That's what you must do: 'plan it and do it'. So, don't you think that this is a very different idea on how to find your soulmate?
