Twitter is big business now. All kinds of people are on it, and they talk about all kinds of things. People who have nothing really to say get on Twitter and say it anyway. Companies also get on there, and one company that's using Twitter a lot recently is Ford. Although its' far from the only company to use the social networking site, Ford has realized that a lot of people are very interested in the cars that it puts out there and the things that are going on in the company. That includes people who own Fords, people who work for the company, and stockholders who have some interest in how well Ford is doing. Other people just like Ford cars - or cars in general - and want to keep up with the latest news about them. Because of the interest in Ford, tweeting about the latest things taking place in the company can really help ensure that people stay interested well into the future. When the interest in a company wanes so do its profits, and Ford is smart to stay on Twitter and keep people interested in what it has to say, so that people keep buying cars, getting questions answered, and seeing what a good company Ford is out to be.

Of course, not everyone loves Ford, but the company has a lot of loyal followers on Twitter and just in general, and those people aren't going to be swayed by others who don't like the company or its cars. It's all about what a particular person likes or doesn't like, and everyone's different. Ford didn't get on Twitter to try to win over the people who don't like its cars or its business. The company got on Twitter to give updates and information to the millions of people who do like the cars it makes and the way it runs its operations. Those are the people who will follow its tweets and see what it's doing, and they're the people Ford is interested in keeping the attention of, because they're the people who are going to be buying Ford cars in the future. A lot of them already own a Ford and have been buying them for a long time, so the company wants to ensure that the trend will continue. Staying current on Twitter is one of the best ways for Ford to do that.
