Loan modification programs are not new for anyone now. The borrowers have facilities to negotiate with their lenders and fix such an amount that is comfortable and affordable for him in future. The agreement that is signed after the approval of loan modification is called loan modification agreement. This agreement in fact contains the new terms and conditions set on the existing loan and the rate of interest as well as the monthly installment that the borrower is supposed to give now onwards.

Foreclosures are the result of various loans that were passed in the past few decades and it seems almost every citizen has some kind of loan or the other in his name. May be this is the cause behind recession and present financial crisis. This is the reason why Obama's administration has stepped in and one of the first thing that they did is to force banks and lenders to create loan modification program in the favor of the borrowers. The lenders are also benefited as they are offered incentives for every loan modification they approve.

The borrower must keep in mind that after so many hassles and difficulties they have come to the level of signing the loan modification agreement, so they must not haste now. This is a very important document and all the terms and conditions are written there. You must be aware of each and every thing written there so that you don't have any regression afterwards. The agreement is in black and white so go through it thoroughly and if you do not understand any term, do clarify with either the lender or any legal advisor. Once you are assured of everything, then go ahead and sign it.

It is very important to read and understand any legal document before you sign it. Because once you sign it, it is a legal proof that you have agreed to all the terms and points written there. However the modification agreement has the details of your negotiation with the lender and the new rate of interest, loan repayment period and the amount of monthly installment that is fixed. But to be on the safe side you must read and understand each and every point in the agreement. You must also let your family know about the present terms so that they support you in every aspect as well.
