An Italian man, living in Wyoming for the last month, who was rescued after being trapped under boulders following a landslide, has blamed his mother and her “stupid, newly fangled floor cleaners”, as he described them, for the accident. The man, named locally as Antonio Vespucci, who was airlifted to hospital, claims that he will only use Fuller Brush products from now on and that’s “the only way how to clean filthy floor”.
Mr Vespucci claims that he was rock climbing with friends Saturday when he lost his footing on a cliff face, starting the landslide because his shoes were still slippy after cleaning his apartment earlier that morning. He explained to reporters at the hospital that the week before, his mother had recommended an industrial strength cleaner to remove scuff marks on his floor that had been present in the apartment since he moved into the residence a month ago.
“She say me ‘That’s how to clean filthy floor’,” he angrily explained to reporters from his hospital bed.
However, the “toxic cocktail of cleaners” – as a friend called it – left the apartment floor sticky and, according to other witnesses – probably meant that the soles of Mr Vespucci’s shoes didn’t provide the necessary traction for the rock climb, covered as they were with the coating of industrial cleaners.
His mother could not be reached for comment. It is believed that she was unaware of the existence of phosphate free and biodegradable cleaning agents that would have worked equally as well as her own recommendations, and probably wouldn’t have caused Vespucci’s slippy feet problem. Mr Vespucci’s relationship with his mother is now under strain. However, this reporter has learned that he nevertheless accepted a large Tupperware container of pasta sauce that had been sent to him from Italy via express mail while at the hospital. It is unknown at the time of going to press if this apparent gift is his mother’s way of apologizing.
Mr Vespucci’s friend, Wyoming native Peter Pedactor, claimed that had he been aware of Mr Vespucci’s scuff mark problem, he would have recommended Fulsol, as made by tried and tested brand Fuller Brush.
“I didn’t realize, but Antonio called his Mom in Naples, asking her how the hell he’d get the scuff marks out of his apartment floor. They seemed to be permanent, because no matter how hard he tried to remove them with a damp cloth, they wouldn’t come out,” Mr Pedactor told the press. “She recommended some cleaners to him – we’re talking the kind of stuff that the North Koreans would pay good money for – weapons grade. So he bought in a lot of store bought cleaners and set to work. He managed to remove the marks, but his shoes got covered in the stuff, they got really slippy, and they were like that on our mountain climb. Had I known about his problem – he only told me in the hospital after the accident that he needed to know ‘how to clean filthy floor’ as he calls it – I would’ve recommended Fuller Brush products.” The Fuller BrushCompany has been in business since 1906, and offers safe, environmentally friendly products for keeping your home and your body clean.
