Beware of sites that ask you to pay to view their scholarship that is a scam as you should never be charged to find a scholarship!
Scholarships are the best way for moms and anyone else for that matter that wants to continue their education. They are different than student loans in that they don't have to be repaid. In essence they provide free money in order to secure your future! Student loans have to be paid back often times including interest. This can be a heavy financial burden that could take years to pay off! Using scholarships eliminates that debt and allows you to begin your new career without debt.
There are some things you can do to help increase your chances of getting some scholarship money for your own education!
1. Apply for as many as you can! There are thousands of scholarships available! You can apply/register for as many as you want! The idea is to apply/register for many in order to increase your chances of being awarded enough to cover your education expenses.
2. Minority Scholarships. These scholarships are specifically geared toward groups of people such as ethnic groups, moms/women, military, and low income individuals.
3. Merit Scholarships. If you had exceptional grades in a specific subject, or perhaps you excelled in a sport or in the arts, there are many scholarships geared specifically toward you!
4. Don't Wait! The time has never been better to start looking for scholarships! Most do have deadlines, and some even have a limit as to how many applicants they will accept! You want to act fast to increase your chances!
5. General Scholarships. Don't forget to register for EVERY General scholarship you can find! These are usually similar to a raffle in that you register and they choose a winner. These are abundant on the internet! Register for as many as you can! I know people that have complete 4 years degrees using nothing but general scholarships!
