Cordoba is one of my favourite Spanish cities and a must if traveling around Spain. Cordoba also known as Cordova in English is a city in Andalusia in Southern Spain. It a comfortable city of almost 325,000 people and is on the Guadalquivir river.

Cordoba is a very ancient city founded by the Romans and was announced a World Heritage Site and is a mix of the diverse cultures that captured and settled it such a the Moors in 711. Cordoba is one of a particularly few towns that in its history was a capital of a Roman Province and the Capital of an Arab State.

The significant quarter of Cordoba is a classy network of narrow streets, alleys and squares and white washed yards. The real reason for going to Cordoba though is the superb Mosque Cathedral ( Mezquita's ) which is actually a striking place to stroll around.

The Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba reflects how the city was an important place in the Islamic world during medieval times. The design with the Islamic arches and the green and gold colours exists together with recesses dedicated to different Christian saints is fascinating. The Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba of is a fabulous afternoon spent just exploring all it has to give.

Except for the Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba there are many other stuff to do and see in Cordoba like the Medina Azaharra and is the ruins of the capital of the Western Caliphate which was built starting in 940 and is free and a particularly astonishing walk.

Then there is Calleja de las Flores which is an attractive narrow street full of flowers which and has an excellent tiny square and leads to the alarming sights of the Mezquita's Tower.
