How many times have you heard the phrase ‘I need to loose weight desperately’ from one of your friends or a member of your family, whilst knowing in your mind that your thinking exactly the same.

We all know that keeping those extra pounds at bay can feel like a continuous uphill struggle and at times feel like an impossible goal to reach or even keep going at. Indeed it takes an awful lot of mind control & discipline never mind the actual physical exertion to maintain the necessary levels of diet and exercise to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

Personally, I take my build from my family. Yes, weight gain is hereditary but let’s be factual here…you don’t have to follow suit. If you do come from a heavily built family with a history of shall we say ‘plumpness’, then the odds are stacked against you, sorry to say, if you do nothing. Having said that, you may be one of the lucky ones who has skipped a generation, but, in the majority of cases, you will follow your in your ancestors’ footprint.

Each of us has a different ‘metabolic rate’, and mine, is damn slow at that if I be truthful. You should see what’s in my garage…treadmills, exercise bikes, tummy rollers…the list goes on. The problem with all these is that most people don’t supplement them with a good & healthy diet and the right frame of mind, which is very difficult in itself, believe you me.

Over the past years, and, much to the frustration of my husband mainly due to the expense of it all & the boredom of hearing ‘I need to loose weight desperately’, I have tried many diet systems, in addition to many training machines, to try & shift those stubborn extra pounds, but time after time those pounds refuse to budge. It seemed that I had reached the end of the road, or at least, the end of my avenue. There is only so much and so many things you can try before you eventually give up…..ring any bells?

I think it was about the time where I was thinking to myself, OK, I have tried my best, I’ll just resign myself to the fact that I’ll be chubby for the rest of my natural, that my hubby, who I might add was at wallet breaking point and fed up to the back teeth of hearing ‘I need to loose weight desperately’, searched on the internet and found something that neither of us had even considered. What if willpower or diet were not wholly responsible for not allowing me to shift that extra weight? What if it was something within me that was always there just piling back on what I was burning off! Well, as it happens, there was a possibility that there may be.

Within us all, within our gut, is what the professional’s call ‘Plaque’, no, not of the dental variety, but of the parasite variety. These parasites are present in many forms & disguises and are potentially lethal. They thrive on what you eat and YOU…it’s as simple as that.

Since trying what my husband found on the internet, I have not looked back. My only regret is that I never for one minute thought my weight loss failures might be to do with something other than diet or exercise. One of life’s little lessons I suppose but one worth learning without a doubt.

I hope that you too can find your own niche to give you peace of mind (and to stop your hubby from wishing you had never started) as I truly feel now that I no longer need to struggle uphill and aim for impossible goals that never materialise. Let it be said that peace of mind and soul plays a huge part in achieving your goals as well.

Of course these are my own personal experiences in obtaining what I wanted out of life, but we all need to start somewhere or at least attempt a different route if you’ve come to a dead end and are STILL saying to yourself I want to lose weight desperately.
