The title says it all folks. If you would not go out of your way to buy what you are offering with your MLM, you do not have the makings of a long term, committed and fun business to offer the market. The only long term MLM is the one that has a valuable product or service that you would buy right now....and that has phenomenal leadership and a proven, functioning business model.
It is sad that most people that enter network marketing or MLM to supplement their income, replace their primary income, or even become wealthy, never achieve these admirable goals. There are a multitude of reasons why failure predominates this industry and this article is going to address how to avoid some of the pitfalls and get a great start to achieve your goals in MLM.
1. Make sure that the product or service of the MLM company is one you will buy right now regardless of the business opportunity. My primary MLM is one that I purchased before it was even a business opportunity! I use this service every year and love it. I talk about it all the time and people love talking about it with me. This is the kind of product or service you need to qualify your MLM whether it be travel, nutrition, technology...whatever, it doesn't matter. You have to be jazzed about owning it regardless of the business opportunity attached.
If you have any hesitance to buy the product or service, that is a a bad sign. If after you truly research the product or service and still have that feeling that you would not buy it today, that MLM is not for you. There are hundreds of great MLM products and services to buy and join for the business opportunity. Go find one that is a keeper; that you would buy right now and use regardless of the business involved.
2. Make sure there is sales training and automation that is duplicatable. Another huge contributor to the high failure rate in this industry is that people that join many of these organizations, do not know how to sell and "network market." If your company does not have an easy to understand team oriented system that you look at and know you could do, and anyone you know could do as well, then this company is not right for you.
There must be solid training and automation for you to tap into and make sales. The days of hotel marketing is not over but this is no way to start when you have the internet available. The tried and true offline techniques are still viable; however, leveraging the technologies on the internet allows you to reach more people and grow your business quickly. Some companies have great systems and most do not. Many of the companies that do not have great sales systems in place, do have leaders that create a system for their teams. This brings us to the final point.
3. Join a Leader that resonates with you. You must like your sponsor and he or she must have the ability to train people and a keen interest in seeing you succeed. Many times the system is so strong that you may need just a little guidance. Your sponsor must be there for you. Learning from a great leader will give you a role model to follow so that you become a leader in the industry as well. The MLM industry is crying for strong leadership.
Keep in mind that not everyone wants to be a leader. You will have all kinds of people that join you for their own reasons and level of income. If you are reading this article, chances are that you have high ambition. This third factor is very important for you to absorb in your mind. Every team needs leadership to succeed or it is doomed for failure. You know when you have a leader in the midst. Make sure you have one before you start with any organization.
The MLM industry has helped millions of people over the years achieve goals that no other business model could have done otherwise. It is a great way to make extra and massive income. The failure rate is still high and this is a combination of the Three Factors and the human element. You can have the Three Factors with an opportunity but unless the individual is not mentally ready to achieve success, those Three Factors do not matter. My last suggestion in this article is for you to develop your mental attitude for definiteness of purpose and study the proven principles of success. This is really the most important aspect of your future success in any business, and in life.
