Giving gifts is one such method to branding yourself while being perceived as a generous person and not just a taker as so many marketers online are seen today.

Ive found that one of the many problems associated with gift giving is that those who truly want the gifts that you have to offer may face three crucial questions that they may ask themselves.

1. Is a freebie valuable?
2. What is fhe gift giver up to?
3. When will I find the time to use this gift? (many who download tons of free material spend their time doing just that and never using the product)

Perceived Valuation Of Your Gift

The worth of your gift in the eyes of the giftee will almost always be less than what the actual value of the gift may be. It is free afterall,and most of us don�t view free gifts as highly as we view paid products or services.


A trouble-free way to raise the value of your gift is to only target potential prospects in markets that are related to your gifts purposes and who are attempting to gain the skill level or learning that your gift can provide.

The Reason For Your Gift

Face it, the purpose of any gift from any marketer is to reel in prospects in the hopes of selling them something down the road but many marketers go overboard from the start with this tactic.

Personally, I expect to see an offer after signing up for a free gift, but not 10 of them. Many who would like to download your free gift may not do so because they are frightened of any trickery that may ensue from such a simple act as signing up for your gift.

If you think this may be a hitch with the low signups to your gift(s), place some text on the gift signup page that states what is to be expected after the prospect signs up to keep them more informed of the process they will encounter.


How Easy Is Your Gift To Use?

For some reason, many of us who use the internet a lot and download free gifts have the habit of doing so a lot but never really using the gifts that we download. There just seems to be to much excitement in getting the free stuff in the first place or the gift is forgotten as the next big, free thing comes along.

If at all achievable, and if you have the resources or skill, make your gift easy to use. If it is a PDF, consider converting the information in it to a video or audio format that can be downloaded but also viewed or heard online.

This will strengthen the chances that the giftee will use your gift right away and not squander a possibly valuable opportunity.
