If you have ever heard the term 'affiliate marketing' you probably know that it has something to do with making cash on the internet. You probably have also heard of tons of people who apparently make a very profitable living from doing it. But what are the real facts? What exactly is it and are people really making millions of dollarsa serious living doing it?
Well I can't tell you how much cash people are making, but I can tell you what affiliate marketing is and if there is actually income potential.
To put things in plain and simple terms, affiliate marketing is selling someone elses stuff and gaining a percent of the profit. For example, if you had an affiliate account with Nikon and you sold one digital camera at $400 and your commission was %10, you would make $40 from that sale. The best way to go about affiliating is to open up your own website in a specific category market, sign up for affiliate programs, and place your affiliate links on your website. When a visitor to your website clicks on one of these affiliate links and purchases something, you will automatically earn your commission. Simple easy huh?
But how do you go about making a living if you're only making a mesely $40 per sale? Well think about it this way: Lets say you had 1000 people visit your site each day, and 2% of those people purchased a camera, that equals $200 a day or $6000 a month. Now lets you say you open 2 more affiliate sites, and have the same results, you would then be making $18000 a month. Pretty decent living if you ask me.
Now your probably wondering: is it actually possible to be making this kind of money doing something so simple? And I can tell you that it completely is! There are litterally thousands of people out there who have turned to affiliate marketing as their main source of income. This is a seriously real thing and the only reason most people fail is due to their lack of patience. Although getting your website up and getting affiliate links can be easy, getting traffic to your site can be hard. Therefore more then half of the people who try affiliate marketing will usually give up.
If you are considering affiliate marketing and would like to give it a shot, be patient! I know from experience that it takes time, but trust in me it will pay off!
