I’ve been writing for my affiliate business for a little over a year, and it’s beginning to be real comfortable for me. Let me give you six quick article marketing basics I think are important and things that have helped to keep me on the right track.

Article Marketing Basics Number One - Title:

Give the title a lot of thought. If a potential reader isn’t interested in the title you won’t get them to go any further and your work at great relevant content will be wasted. Another important point here is to use your keyword in the title if at all possible.

Number Two – Keywords:

Use keywords for the product or service you are promoting at a 1% density. I’ve read some people say to use it more, but the top article marketing directory you can submit to, won’t let you use it more than 1%. If you can’t get your writing accepted and published to the directories here again your time writing is wasted.

Number Three – Content:

This is so important and should be the main reason you are writing that it shouldn’t even have to be mentioned. But many times I read what someone wrote and it is not informational at all. The best way to use articles is to educate people on what you know, so be sure to have the facts and make them unique and original to you. Don’t just copy what someone else has written before you. Put your DNA into the writing. This is article marketing basics best concept you shouldn’t ever forget.

A very important point about the content is to deliver what your title promises to tell the reader. Don’t just put a flashy title out there and expect anyone to want to follow through and actually buy from you if you are only using the title to draw him or her in, then don’t give the information you promised. If you can’t be honest in the title, would someone trust you enough to purchase products you recommend?

Article Marketing Basic Number Four – Grammar and Spelling:

In most cases use proper grammar and correct spelling. I know sometimes you need to use a fragmented sentence, and that’s okay for emphasis, but don’t make it the norm. You may want to use a misspelled keyword because many times people type words wrong when searching. Be very sparse in trying that. Some of the directories will reject you for misspelled words, so use it once or maybe even twice, but don’t be surprised if you are rejected if you try it more than that.

Number Five – Don’t sell:

Write to inform not to sell your particular brand. Build trust by educating consumers without pushing to buy. Your bio section should have a link to your web site where you can start pitching your product or service.

Article Marketing Basics Number Six – Keep Writing:

Don’t get discouraged and quit. Stick to it. I try my hardest to write every day. I know there are days you absolutely can’t, but set a goal and follow it diligently.

Even when I have a really long day and can’t sit down at my computer to write an entire article I at least chose my keyword to start on the next day. If it’s not too late into the evening (or wee morning hours) I even work on the first paragraph. Then I go to bed relaxed knowing I’ve done the best I could for that day and I let it rest and hit it hard the next morning or whatever time I’ve carved out for that day to write.
