The magic of Walt Disney is infectious. I wonder, if everybody lived in Walt Disney World, would people ever have a reason to be sad?

Walt Disney appeals to young and old. It is a magical place where dreams come true and fun waits around every corner. It’s easy to see how the excitement of Walt Disney World continues to draw people from all around the world and all walks of life. With four theme parks, two water parks, over 20 themed resort hotels, world class dining and shopping, Walt Disney can something to offer to everyone…and enough attractions to make smiles last a lifetime.

In fact, there is so much to do and see at Walt Disney, it might be a bit overwhelming as to where to start first.

Whether you’re visiting on a tight budget or have a good chunk of money saved up to do everything you want, here is a straightforward list of some of the best must-see attractions while visiting Walt Disney.

Downtown Disney
Walt Disney World's biggest and most popular entertainment complex is called Downtown Disney. It consists of three sections called The Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and the West Side. The Marketplace is a bustling area of activity with popular merchants with lots of eye candy to look at to keep you entertained. Animatronic pirates, huge replicas of popular Disney characters like Buzz Light Year, Goofy, and of course Mickey Mouse adorn every part of this magical place. The biggest restaurant in Downtown Disney is Rainforest Café. Wildly popular for their simulated thunderstorms and interesting fish tank aquariums and animatronic rainforest animals, they host a huge gift shop with plenty of neat animal-themed memorabilia. Once you’ve checked it out, move on to the next interesting store. The atmosphere is fun and family-friend, and close enough to Walt Disney but without having to pay the steep entrance fees.

The Disney Boardwalk
Disney's Boardwalk offers restaurants and night clubs, but the free part kicks in at night. Every night the Boardwalk plays host to street performers and professional entertainers with acts range from juggling and magic tricks to whimsical unicycle tricks. The best part is that the Boardwalk is right next to EPCOT. At 9 PM each evening, EPCOT has a wonderful fireworks display that can be seen from the Boardwalk. Close enough to see the bold, brilliant colors light up the sky, the fireworks shows at Walt Disney are world-renowned and can be enjoyed from any distance. The best part is that you get to experience the magic of Disney for absolutely free!

Take a Trip to Celebration, Florida
Celebration, Florida was developed in the 1990s by Walt Disney Company. They wanted to build a community of nostalgia and magic where people can live all year round! Just a few minutes away from Walt Disney World, Celebration has a charming downtown area with some great restaurants, a quaint movie theater, as well as a bunch of souvenir shops all with different fun themes. Every so often there are special events and outdoor concerts downtown. But if you find yourself there in the winter, be certain to visit because their main street is filled with fake snow. It really is something you have to see to believe.

Toy Story Mania!
This 3-D, interactive exhibit based on Disney’s wildly popular movie Toy Story is a smashing hit with all ages. Located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this ride/exhibit blasts its visitors into an astronaut-like experience for one of Disney’s most thrilling rides. Plus, each adventure ends with a landing on Mars—awesome.

Typhoon Lagoon and Ketchakidee Creek
Typhoon Lagoon’s newest water coast, the Crush 'n' Gusher, raging streams push you along a fun-packed twisted track. The wave pool features six foot high surf curls while Ketchakidee Creek is geared towards the younger crowd, with bubble jets and fountains for toddlers.

Disney’s World-Famous Thrill Rides
For the more adult crowd, Walt Disney World offers some of the world’s best action-packed thrill rides. Whether you enjoy suspense, fantasy, or just plain eye-popping loops and lifts, there is sure to be a ride made exactly with you in mind. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster features some of the best hits by Aerosmith and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney-MGM Studios drops its riders 13 stories in a breath-taking runaway elevator adrenaline rush. And the classic Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain is a must-do classic: the slower pace of the experience allows its riders to soak in the spectacular flashing neon lights which play against the dark tunnels to create brilliant works of multicolored light art.

See the Amazing Cirque du Soleil
Not quite a circus, not quite an acrobatics show, this awe-inspiring show is a world hit and one of the best live performances you can see while visiting Walt Disney World. The magical sights and sounds of this Walt Disney favorite will definitely keep you smiling for quite some time—with stories to share over and over again.
