Many people ask me "I don't understand why I can't get pregnant" and are too quick to jump to infertility medication. STOP! Infertility is not a simple idea and is in most cases reversible by taking simple, natural steps. Very few people who find it hard to conceive actually have serious complications.

I myself had stage 3 endometriosis but overcame it using Chinese herbal medication and a simple healthy lifestyle regime that I learned from a popular book on the subject which I shall discuss more later. So it CAN be done! Here are my top tips on how to improve fertility.

"Why I Can't Get Pregnant" - Eating unhealthily

For men and women, eating and drinking excessive amounts of unhealthy food has a huge effect on fertility. For example, drinking too much alcohol or caffeine causes a man's sperm count to drop by up to 50%. This is a hugely significant figure which can easily be avoided with a little discipline.

Also, it has recently been discovered that Vitamins C,D and zinc and calcium are essential in making sure healthy eggs are released during a woman's ovulation period. These are easily obtained from eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and dairy products too.

"Why I Can't Get Pregnant" - Not doing enough Exercise

Exercising regularly can help keep a woman's ovulation cycle regular and of the right length. This is due to hormone regulation predominantly. What tends to happen is that excess fat on a woman encourages the release of excess estrogen which in turn off balances the cycle making it hard to keep up with your ovulation cycle.

Going jogging two or three times a week at a moderate work rate should be sufficient but you should do a little more if you can endure it.

"Why I Can't Get Pregnant" - Too much Stress

Stress levels also have a huge impact on the regularity of your ovulation cycle. Again this is due to the hormonal imbalance that stress causes on the body.

It is easiest to maintain stress by making sure you are getting some leisure time a week and are not constantly working in some shape or form. Taking up a yoga class can also do wonders and is hugely beneficial for many women.

Recent research suggests that herbal medication which helps maintain and regulate hormones in the body are the most effective way to begin with improving your fertility. This is because of the few risks and minimal side effects present. I learned how to go about improving my lifestyle and herbal medication from a great book.
