Finding a free college education is not an everyday situation. Previous grants such as the Pell Grant offer students the ability to pay for an Associates degree at the tune of about $5000 per semester. Based upon a two semester college, this type of federal funding will pay for four semesters of college which basically equates to a two-year college degree.
As if to one up this package, the current administration has added more federal funding for single mothers that qualified based upon their financial situation. They can still apply for various other grants such as the TEACH grant which is focused upon a career that is in the school systems. This does not have to be paid off because it is also a grant from the government.
To apply, your first step is to get your FASFA done early in the year so that you are on top of the list. It is a first-come first-served grant and relates directly to all of the funding that you will receive. Next, you should apply for the Pell Grant which most students qualify for.
The Obama moms return to school grant program is only for single moms. Between all of these federal funds and innumerable scholarships that can also be applied for, paying your way through college will be an easy scenario for most people and will meet the president's goal of getting single women with children back into college.
