I personally feel you should take advantage of inexpensive signs and use them to your full advantage. There are two signs that I think every new small business owner should invest in. One is a sidewalk sign. The reason I think a sidewalk sign is so important is because they have been proven to attract customers and increase sales. This is what you want as a new business owner.

And truth be told radio and newspaper can be very expensive and might not fit into your budget. A sidewalk sign will cost you no more then $200 bucks and will be working for you all day. You can put it up as soon as you open and take it down when you close. Everyone loves a great deal so give it to them. Put it on your sidewalk sign and watch the traffic increase in your store.

I also think a cartop sign is a necessity when you are first starting out. Hey listen, you have to be aggressive. It might look silly or it might make you feel silly but it works. Your job as the owner is to do as much as you can to get he word out about your business. Thats the only way its going to be successful.
