No matter what the season, the Boyne Michigan area offers up all kinds of activities for everyone looking for a fun vacation spot. In addition to the activities, downtown Petoskey and Harbor Springs offer fantastic shopping and dining in their downtowns.
Boyne in Wintertime
During the winter months the Boyne area is a buzz with winter sports, ranging from ice skating to sledding to hiking and even ice fishing. However, skiing takes the cake as the Boyne area's main winter activity. With three of the best ski resorts in Michigan located nearby, Boyne's skiing can provide days, if not weeks, of enjoyment. The three resorts are Nub's Nob, Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain. All three are quite similar in size and can easily accommodate all levels of skier and snowboarders. For those not so experienced there are also lessons and rentals available at each of the resorts.
Boyne the Other Three Seasons
When winter is over, the Boyne area heats up (both literally and figuratively). As temperatures rise, the golf courses open up and the area offers up some of the best golf in Michigan. There are dozens, if not more, of challenging and beautiful courses scattered around Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Boyne City.
In addition to golf, the area is located alongside beautiful, sandy Lake Michigan. If the weather is warm enough then no vacation is complete without a swim in the lake. On cooler days, there's still fun to be had in the water at Avalanche Bay Water Park in Boyne Falls. The water park is kept at a comfortable temperature year round and has a bunch of pools, slides and other activities for both kids and adults.
