Virtual worlds have been some what of an imaginative sci-fi thought and film dream. Many attempts have been made to create a real life like world inside a computer but sadly every attempt at such world has been grim.

Taking online chat and online shopping to the next level where you can actually be a person and walk into a store and talk to a representative prior to making a purchase.

Now there’s www.secondlife.com and I have to say it’s good. Businesses are starting to set up inside this virtual world. It is very strange you create an avatar and you can style yourself then you can enter the world. Real money to the amounts of well over half a million daily is being spent inside this world.

Music Artists are starting to play inside this world where you can buy tickets inside the world and go watch them play.

This could be the next generation of online browsing where we will be using maps and taxis to find our way to stores instead of search engines. It could just be the next big change to happen to the internet.

I am still exploring the world and I will be writing more articles on Second Life as it does have a lot of potential.
