As a dancer, your legs and feet are what people see the most during your dance routine. Make sure these body parts that serve as a vital component of your dance performance not only look good but are adorned to align your body properly during vigorous dance movements.

Legs

The best leg line on a leotard is a high or French cut leotard that comes closer to the hip. Even if you have short legs, the higher the leg line is cut, the longer your legs will look. Also, for a very pretty leg line, wear tights with seams that run down the back of your leg. This emphasizes the line your leg makes while in movement and elongates your legs as a whole.

Feet

It is very important to get a ballet shoe that hugs to the arch of your foot. There is nothing less flattering than a ballet shoe with bulges and bulkiness around the arch. A canvas shoe or a leather shoe with a canvas insert at the arch is the best solution for this problem.

There are also new dance shoes on the market that have the center of the shoe cut out and the two ends are attached by only x-strap elastic on the top and bottom of the foot. This is the ideal shoe to flatter the arch of your foot.

Because of the fit of pointe shoes and all of the different types of feet, there is no one type of pointe shoe that is best for everyone. However, it is very important to try out as many shoes as possible to find the one that forms to your foot and hugs your arch.
