Here are some of the biggest mistakes distressed homeowners make when selling their home. Also, learn the foolproof home-selling maneuvers that will get you the highest sticker cost for your house.

Anticipating it out. If you decide to wait, you are joining the thousands of other homeowners who have also settled to wait. When a few make up one's mind it’s time to take the plunge then you are too late already. It's a simple logic. If you want to sell right away, then sell right away. There will never be a better time so don't wait for the best time before you decide to sell.

Not taking the first active bid. This happens time and time again. The buyer takes a bite early on and they are all of a sudden filled with assurance. It looks like you are standing over a pond packed with a million starved fish. The first offer doesn’t appear great and you naturally assume there are bigger and juicier fish to be had. So you throw the tiddler back in without considering that it might be the catch of the day.

Exhibiting your house even before you get rid of the clutter. You would not try to sell your car without first topping it out right? Trying to sell your house when it is full of clutter is the same thing. Buyers don’t see fascinating family mementos and enticing bric-a-brac; they see visual noise, garbages, or whatsoever that will distract and capture their sight. The buyer does not want to see your house, what they want to see is their house in the future. So find a temporary house for all your possessions including those with sentimental values and let the house show for itself. This way your house will be more attractive to the prospective buyers.
