There are very many components that come into writing a research or a custom paper. Besides the abstract, references and all, there is the appendix which is still an important part of an academic piece of compilation. What the appendix consists of is details like the questionnaires that may have been used during interrogations to gain the needed information during the research, survey forms, and related documentation. The bibliography in a research paper is also considered part of the appendix. Sometimes it may not be clear cut the main aims of having all these additions to the paper but the fact that remains is that they are needed to make a research or a term paper complete. The appendix comes as the last page of the term paper. Appearing anywhere else in the paper is a huge mistake.

Expounding on the things that build up the appendix, the questionnaire comes first. This kind of quizzing is an important and indispensable method of data collection that is very effective especially when the interviewer has a lot of questions, some of which cannot be asked in the face to face condition. These are usually mailed to the recipients. Recipients in this case can be private individuals, or private or even public companies and organizations. After the questionnaire is filled out it is mailed back to the interviewer who then analyzes the data collected and derives a conclusion. To make the while process smooth and easy, the questionnaire adopts a simple inquiry method where short answers are asked and if not, the interviewee is needed to tick against the answer that they feel is best. Multiple choices may fall in there too.

The bibliography is the part of the appendix is the space and place reserved for all the sources that have been of your assistance in gathering the needed information and compiling the report or term paper. You are at liberty to include the name of the author of the books you have used together with page numbers and years of publications. The liberty is of course limited by the citation style that has been adopted. It is mandatory to mention all the sources that have contributed to your compilation. If not some plagiarism will be detected and that will only mean loosing out on some marks during the marking process.

Being an appendix, an index is necessary and its importance cannot be understated. It simply guides the reader. The index is similar to that you would find in a text book. Basically, it gives the names of subject topics or crucial points and highlights the page numbers where the topics and points have been discussed in detail. Just like the references page, the index page should follow the alphabetic arrangement. Generally, the appendix simply helps the professor identify with the bibliography and locate any points in the term paper that may have generated their interest. Though it is sometimes left out in some citation styles, it is nonetheless essential and should be included in the citation style that warrants it.
