There are two technologies or devices that make possible the categorization of the projectors. A projector may contain a DLP (Digital Light Processing) that makes a projector more suitable for home cinemas. On the other hand there is the LCD (Liquid Crystal display) projector that has a higher capability of reproducing the natural colors than the DLP projector. Another component of a projector is the “ANSI lumens” that measures the rate of the brightness of the projector. Another important aspect is the distance between the screen and the projection of the image, namely how the image is thrown to the screen. The keystone correction refers to the fact that if a projector is situated in an appropriate way (vertically or horizontally) then the image might be distorted. All images contain black and white but the amount of these colors on the screen is determined by the contrast ratio that controls the ability of the projector to dispose subtle color details.
When presenting an image with the projector it is very important to control the ambient lighting because it has the power of influencing the contrast between the colors in that image. For instance, video is highly negatively influenced by the presence of the ambient lighting. This isn’t the case with the films.
The difference between the affordable and consumer projections and the high end projectors is not too big. Both types of projectors are just as professional and easy to use, but the latter type is destined especially to a larger audience. The affordable projections reach a cost of only about $2500 and offer around 3200 ANSI lumens while the projectors used for large audiences cost four times as much as an affordable projector and it displays only 5100 ANSI lumens. This means that the high end projectors are not really worth investing in if we take into consideration all these conditions and facts. Even so, many companies make investments in such devices because they offer a wider range of possibilities as concerning the chance to display more complicated and clearer images to a large audience.
