My definition of Spirituality is this:
Someone who's spiritual is aware of who he/she really is.
Do *you* know who you are? Your first thought is probably 'of
course I know who I am - I'm [[John/Mary or whatever your name is]]'.
But that's not who you are, friend. That's just the name your parents
gave you identify you and differentiate you from their other kids:).
You could come up with all sorts of descriptions about who you
are, but here's the thing. *You* are a spiritual being. You have
a soul (wherein your mind resides) and you live in a body.
You actually know this without being consciously aware of it -
have you ever talked about a dead person in terms of 'the body of'
so and so? Why do you think it is that once someone dies you
start referring to them as a 'body'?
It's because on some level, you acknowledge that 'their spirit
has departed'.
Stay with me - you'll see the practical implications of this
awareness. The sooner you 'get it' the sooner you can start
applying it and seeing some outstanding results in your life,
with minimal effort.
So that's who you really are. You are a Spirit, you have a soul
and you live in a body. God made you in His own image. God is a
Spirit. And so are you. You exist in God. In Him you live, move
and have your being. Metaphysics and quantum physics talk about
the 'ether' or 'energy field' within which we all exist. Now you
know what they're talking about. Of course you can choose to
believe this statement or not. It doesn't change things one bit.
I will say though, that believing it and acting on it has taken
my life (and the lives of others who have chosen to believe it)
to a whole new level of play.
If you are serious about achieving any level of true, lasting
success in any area of life you can name, you will stick to
this line of thought.
Now, what has Spirituality got to do with your success?
Plenty. I can't cover it all in this article, but I'll use
an example to give you an idea, then you can extrapolate from
there.
For one thing, knowing who you really are makes your
affirmations more believable to you. You do know that
affirmations work when you back them up with faith *and*
appropriate action, right?
This means that if you use an affirmation, yet don't believe
what you're saying, appropriate action alone won't get you the
results you seek. In the same way, if you use an affirmation
and believe what you say, but you don't take appropriate action,
nothing's going to happen.
When you realize that *you* are a spirit, you will find it
easy to believe an affirmation like 'I am perfectly healthy',
even if your body looks different. Remember that you are not your
body. Your body houses the real you.
Recall that science has now proven that your very thoughts can
change the formation of the cells in your body (and in fact
today's neuroscientists have been able to show what happens in
your nervous system when you think a thought. In summary, each new
thought you hold causes the creation of a neuron (nerve cell) in
your body.
Nerve cells make up the nervous system, which controls the
physical functions of your body along with some other vital
body systems). So it is important that you hold thoughts that
bring about the physical manifestation of the things you desire
in your body and the rest of your outside world.
When you realize that you are a spirit, and you make an affirmation
based on the knowledge of who you are, you will find it easy
to believe that affirmation. Back it up with appropriate action
and the inevitable outcome is that you get the result you desire.
When you realize that you exist in God, you find it easy to see
how come you exist in a sea of abundance and everything good, even
when outside events appear to be contrary. Hold this line of thinking
long enough and abundance and goodness will begin to materialize
all around you. Ignorance keeps many people in poverty, sickness
and all sorts of sorry states. The Truth sets people fr*e*e from
all such woes. Hold fast to it, practise it then share it with
others.
Notice that these are not facts you pick up with your physical
senses. Learn to 'see' with your inner eye. Learn to see what's
not physically visible. That's where reality exists, and that's
where physical, tangible results are created.
When I work with my clients, I help them grow in this
awareness using various exercises. Then I get them to take
appropriate action to back up the new belief and desire(s). It's
like working out regulary in a gym, with me as your 'personal
trainer'. Only this time it's not just your physical health we're
working to improve.
The results we have achieved so far make me so bold as to challenge
you to 'name your goal and I WILL help you achieve it'. I believe
in producing results, not just talking about them.
Coaching is about taking appropriate action and achieving
desired outcomes as a result. However you cannot achieve any
worthwhile goals until you have worked on your 'inner world',
for what goes on inside you *always* finds a way to express
itself in your outside world.
If you'd like to know how Coaching can help you reach the level
of personal, business, professional or other success you truly
desire (and if you're *serious* about taking appropriate action to
bring about the results you seek - I do not tolerate time wasters),
