How Her Faith Delivered Her!

How Her Faith Delivered Her!
by Leonard J. Roos

She said to herself, if I could just touch the hem of his
garment, I will be made well. She had no guarantees, other
than her faith.

Eventually she did touch him and got the miracle she was
hoping for. This is the remarkable story of a woman who had
been hemorrhaging for over twelve years, without end, until
she came across the great teacher and healer, Jesus.

She had a problem and she knew what the solution to her
problem was, Jesus. But getting to him represented another
problem because you can imagine that there must have been
thousands of other sick people who wanted to see Jesus.

The difference between her and many of the other people is
this. They may all have had the same determination to get
to Jesus, but they may not have had the unshakeable belief
that once they get to him, they would be healed. And this
is often the difference. It is not whether you get
opportunities, but what you do with them.

Most people who go to be prayed for don't really believe
that they will get well, even if they have seen others get
well after being prayed for.

Not so long ago there was a young woman who had dreams of
fame and unprecedented success. During the day and sometimes
at night, she worked as a waiter and coat check girl. Most
nights she worked late at night, writing songs and dreaming
of the day when it would all come together.

And come together it did, on that fateful night that Tommy
Mottola, Sony president listened to her demo tape, and knew
that he had found the next music superstar. This of course
is the story of Mariah Carey, the most successful female
music artist in history.

Things weren't easy for young Mariah, before she found fame.
There were numerous disappointments and frustrations, and
little money. This didn't stop her from dreaming. If anything,
it fuelled her dreams and her desire to become a somebody.

She was determined, just like the woman in the Bible, to do
whatever it takes, even wait on tables, while waiting for her
dream to manifest.

You don't need extraordinary strength and faith to achieve your
goals, whatever they may be. The little you think you have is
enough to start with. The following verse in the scriptures says
it well.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect
in weakness." 1 Corintians 12, verse 9
