You should never overlook the health benefits that exercise can bring to your life. Not only will it reduce your risk for disease and illness, but it can also increase your mood and lead to a more improved standard of living.
You should workout no less than for thirty minutes three to four times a week to see the most benefits from exercise. Aside from aerobic exercise, it is also wise to use some form of strength training workouts as well. Both types of exercise, aerobic and anaerobic, will begin to show major benefits in your metabolism so your body can effectively burn fat and calories throughout the course of the day.
Really any type of regular activity will benefit you greatly, especially if you live a relatively inactive lifestyle. If this is the case, start out slow. Don't push yourself to do things before you are ready. Start out with some activities like swimming, walking, or biking. You can use better exercises and workouts that will be more beneficial to your health once you feel you are at that level.
If you are ready to move up to the next level, then get to the gym and start using some overall body exercises to get the biggest benefits. Overall body workouts like the squat and deadlift will generally work the biggest muscle groups in your body and help you burn calories, lose fat, and build lean muscle.
The squat and deadlft are two great exercises to use to build muscle. You should also add in some variable intensity cardio routines to get your heart rate up. Treadmill, exercises bike, and/or the elliptical machine are all great ways to add in your aerobic exercises.
If you have been wanting to start doing exercise but don't think you have the time to do it, I would strongly suggest you find time. Considering it is your own health that we are talking about here, it shouldn't be too hard to find motivation to be able to get to the gym. Everything else in life will begin to start falling in place once you start working out and feeling better about yourself.
Being active and finding time to exercise at any age will ward off plenty of diseases and boost your immune system so you wont get sick near as much. You'll want to find time to exercise and get into shape before your sick and then it's too late.
