THE NET ADVENT

NIGHT VISIONS
All is quiet as I sit here late this night. What's that? Don't look now,
but I think a familiar poem is being regurgitated. 'Twas the night before
Christmas...and all round my computer, not a thing was moving, stirred not
a bit by my mouse.

Then behold! There flashing by, what did my wondering eyes just see? A wave
of a finger carelessly tipping the ....Oh shucks! The nose bit makes me feel
as if I will sneeze, and down would come my papers, wafting in the breeze!
I am tired of this Christmas stuff already. Yawn!

CHRISTMAS MESSAGES
Let's change the yarn somewhat and picture instead the following. 'Twas at
midnight before deadline, and on every search engine a busy Net guru was
surfing...when what to his blurry eyes did come - an angel's message from

......WHO??? From GOD! "To you is born this day".... Oh come off it, Iris.
No one is going to read this dribble.

COMMUNICATING ANGELS
But wait! The first Christmas was a communication Advent beyond comparison.
Not with high technology, sure, for God used angels then. But why couldn't
God use the Internet to make a B I G announcement now of a world-wide Advent?
After all, the first book printed on the newly invented printing press was
the Bible, God's message, and it ranks first among best sellers still today.
Every world religion communicates its message on the medium best known in
each generation, whether for Christians, Moslems, Buddhists, Hindu or Jewish
followers. The medium IS the angel. The approach of another Advent reminds me
that God still uses every medium possible to get through to humans in every

land, and in every tongue, so why not on the Net!

ADVENT ANGELS
So this Christmas have your computer linked in real time to the Net and await
this year's message. You just might be surprised by what angels are saying.
Everything on the Net is not bad, nor is it all false commercialism. This
medium is amazing, and can be used to spread love, peace, joy and goodwill
to all, world-wide!

MY ANGELS
I appreciate the Net angels out there that are even now helping people caught
in nasty Net harassment. I appreciate those Net gurus who are finding ways
to stop evil from reaching our surfing children. I appreciate those Net
advocates who are providing information to protect against false and dangerous
viruses. I appreciate busy editors of interesting and helpful newsletters!

Angels all! Yes, there is an Advent for good out there in the world, and it's
right here on the Net.

NET A N G E L S!
So, hi there, you modern shepherds! All you out there in Net land! Have a
joy-filled holiday season and check your computer early Christmas morning. Now
that we aren't worrying about Y2Kanymore, let's look for goodwill to all
around the world. A power greater than you is abroad in the land. This may
well be the year of the NET ADVENT. "For unto you...."
