How has all of this impacted ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder?
Let me start by getting myself in trouble by going against the grain. I don't believe ADD/ADHD Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder exist. I'm one of those who believe the title was created to support a billion dollar drug.
Do I believe our children and a lot of adults have trouble paying attention? YES, that's why I sold my hardwood flooring business and started doing what I'm doing now.
You don't need drugs to control your mind; you need to retrain yourself to stay focused. I have taken 7 or 8 test for ADD and passed every one of them with flying colors. I should be the poster boy for ADD.
Do I take drugs? No. I just write in my journal more and make myself stay focused. Do I get off track? Yes. But writing in my journal and doing my "Recipe for Success" keeps me on track.
If I had been taught to do this as a child, it would be a lot easier for me now but I wasn't. I can tell you it gets easier every day that I do it.
I know you have seen and read all of the studies about ADD/ADHD. Who do you think pays for all of those studies?
I know you see children who are out of hand, hyper and have too much energy. Its' not their fault, it's their parent's. Having too much energy is not a bad thing.
I have never seen an adult diagnosed with ADHD; it seems only children are hyperactive. I guess the adults only have a problem with their attention span. Too bad they can't have the energy problem maybe we wouldn't have the over-weight problem with adults that we have.
This e-mail is not to debate ADD/ADHD for more information about that visit this website. http://www.adhdfraud.com/index.htm
Thursday we talked about who has your attention and how advertisements are only affirmations that a company uses so that you will buy their products. With so many advertisements and new products coming out everyday, it's no wonder it's so hard to stay focused.
I understand why children are much more hyper and why both children and adults have a shorter attention span than they did 20 or 30 years ago. Because now we have hundreds of thousands of things fighting for our attention.
Look at how much life has changed in the last 20 or 30 years. It's tough to stay focused from the house to the car. Think about all of the stuff on the computer and internet that wants your attention, think about all of the video games that people play, (on TV, on the computer, in the car with hand-held games, while they are walking around, on their phones) when I was growing up we only had 5 TV channels to chose from. Now I have over 300, some that just play music.
It's no wonder children are over hyper and driving their parents crazy, look at the food they eat. The majority of us are eating a diet consisting of nothing but empty carbs and refined sugar. That alone will make your body go nuts.
When I was a kid, I was out of the house when the sun came up and didn't come home until the sun went down. Today children sit in front of the TV or computer watching shows or playing video games. They aren't getting any exercise so they don't have a chance to burn off any energy.
When you start adding everything up it's easy to slap a label on it like ADD/ADHD. Look at the food grown-ups eat, the same thing that children are eating and that has a huge impact on your thought process. So you add the bad eating to being bombarded with all the advertisements and new technology toys we now have and you can see why there would seem to be so many more adults with a lack of attention span.
It can be easier to stay focused with all the new technology, it just depends on what and why you are using that technology.
You don't need drugs to help you control your thoughts; you can do that with proper eating habits, exercise and a journal. It's just easier with drugs. You are not in control when you take drugs and if you consider all of the bad side effects that come along with taking drugs that should be enough to make you never want to take them.
As always if you want to control your life, you must control your thoughts. That's why I came up with the program "The 21-Day Mental Diet ~ Change Your Life by Changing Your Mind!"
Until we meet again, keep a smile on your face, me in
your prayers and God in your heart.
As always, your comments are welcomed.
Have a better than Outstanding Day!
