The Importance of a Squeeze Page and Why You Need One

When reading through articles such as these you might have followed a few links which have lead you to a simple page that asks you for your name and e-mail address. This page is called a squeeze page. It is designed to get you to subscribe to that person's mailing list. This is not a bad thing. Most of the time you will want to subscribe to their mailing list. Many of the lists I subscribe to offer free and informative content that I am interested in.

The squeeze page will help you with building your e-mail list at a very fast rate. From the moment a person finds your site they will subscribe to your list. There will be some people who decline but, most will want to subscribe. Remember that a user can unsubscribe at any time. As long as your site is clean and has a privacy policy, you should not have a problem gaining and keeping subscribers.

The squeeze page should present an offer to entice the visitor to subscribe. This could be anything from site updates to free teachings. There should be a form on the page to collect the necessary information.

For those of you who do not know how to place forms on your page, I would recommend finding an auto-responder that does this for you. Many auto-responders will create the form and provide you with a simple code to paste into your html. Once you get your squeeze page set up and your mailing list started be sure to send your subscribers quality information. Sending them junk is the quickest way to run them off.
