Beagle training, dog ownership in general is a big responsibility. Having a dog is comparable to having a baby. As parent, the task of feeding, grooming, caring and training falls upon your shoulder. You have to deal with it to make your dog happy and healthy.

There are a lot of things you need to teach your dog - appropriate behavior, various tricks and commands are just a few. As a household pet, your four-legged companion must learn how to act in ways acceptable by his human companions. A dog must know the appropriate place to eliminate; not in the living room neither inside mommy's bedroom. He must learn to hold it until he reaches the safe spot. In order to do so, house training is necessary.

The furniture, dad's favorite socks or mom's high-heeled shoes are not toys. Fido must learn not to chew those things no matter how tasty those items are in his eyes. Chew toys should be provided. Toys specially designed for chewing are usually made of strong, hard rubber so that they last long at the same time entertain the dog.

Digging is another problem that comes along dog ownership. Lucky is the owner whose dog doesn't seem to enjoy making unsightly holes in the yard. However, if digging is an issue, then you must do something to deal with it. The first step is for you to identify the reason for digging. Are you providing toys and giving your pet daily exercise? If not, then you should start doing so to alleviate the problem. Dogs that are bored are more likely to do things such as digging, thus toys and exercise must be provided.

Teaching a pet not to bite is another important thing that must be included in Beagle training. There is no way to totally prevent your dog from biting someone but there are a lot of ways to reduce the possibility. Just like in chewing and digging, exercise, as well as training can help with your dog's biting problem. Socialization and teaching your pet appropriate behavior are also ways to solve the problem.
